Xeomin® For BOTOX® Resistance

Xeomin® For BOTOX® Resistance

BOTOX® has been used as an anti-aging treatment to reduce the look of wrinkles and produce smoother skin since 2002. It was even approved before that in 1989 for therapeutic use. Since its introduction into mainstream skin health routines, BOTOX® has only increased in popularity as people realize how simple and painless this minimally invasive anti-aging product is. In the hands of an expert skin health professional, BOTOX® can be used to deliver natural-looking and stunning results. But did you know BOTOX® is only one type of its kind? There is another brand called Xeomin® that delivers the same result but is slightly different in its composition. In theory, these two injectables are interchangeable but there is one key difference: once the body begins to build a resistance to BOTOX® and it is no longer effective, Xeomin® can be used instead.

BOTOX® And Xeomin® For Continuous Anti-Aging

What is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is composed of onabotulinumtoxinA and several other additives and proteins. It comes from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and is safe in the small doses used for cosmetics and anti-aging skin care. This injectable works to smooth the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by paralyzing the muscles in the area it is injected. By blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles, the injected muscles are unable to contract which causes wrinkles to relax and soften.

What is BOTOX® Resistance?
When BOTOX® is repeatedly used, the body can begin to build up a resistance to it, similar to how the body builds a resistance to antibiotics if taken too frequently. Because BOTOX® is derived from a bacteria, after multiple years of treatment, your body may begin to identify and attack the BOTOX® as a foreign or dangerous substance despite being completely harmless and it will lose its effectiveness.

What Is Xeomin® And How Can It Help?
Xeomin® is similar to BOTOX®. It creates the exact same muscle paralysis to smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles. The main difference between the two is that Xeomin® has fewer ingredients and it is less susceptible to resistance because of this. The molecule used in Xeomin® is slightly different from BOTOX®, and while BOTOX® uses onabotulinumtoxinA, Xeomin® uses incobotulinumtoxinA. Because of these slight differences, when the body begins to build an immunity to BOTOX® and the effects are no longer as pronounced as desired, you can switch to Xeomin®. Because this is a more pure form of a slightly different toxin, the body will not react the way it does to the previously used BOTOX® since it will not identify the relationship between these products.

What Can Xeomin® Be Used For?
Xeomin® can be used for the same purposes as BOTOX®, including:

  • Minimizing wrinkles across the forehead
  • Eliminating soft lines around the eyes
  • Smoothing out frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Improving nasal squint lines

Xeomin® also offers the same benefits as BOTOX®, including:

  • No recovery time
  • Fast results
  • A minimally invasive procedure
  • Long lasting results
  • A natural look

Xeomin® is an ideal treatment for people who have built up a BOTOX® resistance or for people who are allergic to BOTOX®. Before receiving either injectable, discuss with a qualified skin health professional.
