IntimaLase - Mitigate The Effects of Childbirth and Ageing

Many women turn to nonsurgical laser treatments, like the ones offered at our Kelowna skin clinic, to help turn back the clock and naturally rejuvenate their body.

Intimalase vaginal rejuvenation is a procedure that is designed to address vaginal relaxation syndrome.

VRS is an increase in the laxity of the vaginal area that usually occurs due to childbirth, the natural ageing process, or other health reasons. This can result in a loss of sexual enjoyment, as well as a decrease in confidence.

IntimaLase achieves excellent outcomes by encouraging the body to heal itself.

This procedure helps:

  • mitigate and reduce changes that occurred after childbirth
  • increases their enjoyment of intimate experiences
  • boosts patient self-esteem

IntimaLase boasts a 97% satisfaction rate and can significantly improve patients’ quality of life.

IncontiLase - Reduce Symptoms Of Urinary Incontinence

IncontiLase restores patients’ freedom to carry out activities without fear of embarrassing, uncomfortable leaks.

IncontiLase is a laser therapy treatment for stress urinary incontinence. Many individuals find that, after childbirth or due to the natural aging process, they experience bladder issues. This negatively impacts patients’ day-to-day lives, and causes self-consciousness.

These treatments target areas that are related to bladder support. It rejuvenates and strengthens them, resulting in a significant reduction or disappearance of symptoms.

Studies show:

  • most patients report improvement in their symptoms and 68% of patients achieve a total disappearance of SUI symptoms
  • no adverse results occurred in any of the treatments studied

How Does It Work?

Considering a vaginal rejuvenation treatment session in Kelowna? Here’s what you need to know.

The FotonaSmooth Laser System

IntimaLase and IncontiLase are carried out using a FotonaSmooth laser, which is specifically designed for non-invasive gynecological procedures and with maximum patient comfort.

This laser can be accurately tuned and adjusted, ensuring our patients receive the most customized treatment possible.

The Procedure

First, your rejuvenation specialist will prepare the area and apply anaesthetic. Our trained nurses will then use the laser to deliver pulses that thermally affect the targeted area. This promotes collagen remodelling and regeneration.

  • For IntimaLase patients, this results in a rejuvenated, tighter vaginal canal.
  • For IncontiLase patients, the increase in collagen throughout the area provides greater support to the bladder.

The Recovery Period

Patients are able to resume normal activity right away. However, depending on the case, nurses may recommend that the patient refrain from sexual activity for approximately 48-72 hours after the treatment session.

The Results

After the treatment, the body’s natural collagen production is boosted, resulting in a more rejuvenated vaginal area.

Treatment results can include:

  • better sensation duing intimacy
  • increase in vaginal tightness
  • reduction in stress urinary syndrome and stress urinary incontinence

IntimaLase Vaginal Rejuvenation FAQ

Am I A Candidate For Fotona Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Our Kelowna skincare and rejuvenation specialists will always take note of your unique medical history. Most women who are NOT pregnant and who are in good health are eligible for this treatment.

Note: Vaginal rejuvenation cannot be done while a patient is menstruating, and your rejuvenation specialist may suggest you schedule your session for early in your cycle for best results.

Is Vaginal Rejuvenation Invasive?

Our vaginal rejuvenation and incontinence treatments are completely non-invasive and non-surgical. Both our lasers and handpieces allow our highly-trained nurses to provide the safe, controlled, and effective application of laser pulses.

Note: While vaginal rejuvenation at our Kelowna skin clinic is conducted using a laser, is not a laser surgery procedure.

In fact, for many patients, this procedure is an ideal alternative to surgical and laser surgery procedures, which come with a higher risk of scar formation, nerve damage, and longer recovery times.

Are These Treatments Painful?

While some patients do report symptoms such as mild discomfort or stinging sensations, most report a smooth procedure without discomfort.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

For most IntimaLase patients, one treatment is enough, but for others with more advanced VRS, two treatments may be required.

IncontiLase patients with mild symptoms usually require only one treatment, and only ¼ of those with moderate symptoms required a second treatment.

The ideal number of treatments can be determined during the consultation and discussed further in a follow-up after the first procedure.

Does IntimaLase Offer Internal Treatment Only?

IntimaLase primarily treats the vaginal canal and opening. For information about other intimate rejuvenation options, ask our Kelowna skin care specialists at your consultation.

Does Incontinence Treat Heavy Urinary Incontinence?

IncontiLase is highly effective in treating mild-to-moderate urinary incontinence. If you’re not sure if you’re a good candidate, book a consultation with our Kelowna skin and health specialists, or check with your family doctor.
