How does JUVÉDERM® work?

JUVÉDERM® is a non-surgical, anti-aging treatment which is injected into the treatment site using a very fine needle. Most treatments are very short, lasting approximately 15 minutes with minimal pain. If needed, one of our skin care specialists can apply a topical gel prior to the treatment to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.

Does JUVÉDERM® have any side effects?

The side-effects of JUVÉDERM® are very minor and typical for all dermal fillers. These include:

Redness
Slight swelling
Bruising
Itching
Bumps

Such reactions are usually temporary and should disappear within a few days.

Is JUVÉDERM® right for me?

While JUVÉDERM® is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler, suitable for all skin types, there are some important treatment considerations you should discuss with our specialists prior to the procedure to avoid any unsatisfactory results. These include:

If you have any known allergies to hyaluronic acid or other dermal filler products
If you have any known allergies to lidocaine or other local anesthetics
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are under the age of 18.
If you are currently taking medications such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs or blood thinners because, as with any injection, you may experience prolonged bleeding with JUVÉDERM®
If you have previously used fillers or any other skin treatments such as laser, chemical peels or microdermabrasion
