How Many Treatments Are Needed?

While the number of permanent hair removal treatments needed depend upon your skin color, hair color and coarseness of your hair, our clients usually require a minimum of 4-8 treatments spaced approximately 6 weeks apart.

How does the GentleLase permanent hair removal system work?

The GentleLase Plus Alexandrite laser sends a high intensity light directly to the hair follicle, where it delivers a therapeutic heat to eliminate the follicle’s ability to grow hair. A cooling burst of cryogen helps protect the upper layers of the skin to give you optimal results with minimal side effects.
During the laser hair removal therapy, we will provide you with protective goggles to protect your eyes while one of our trained practitioners guides the laser handpiece across the treatment area. This may take only a few minutes or up to two hours depending on the size of the area being treated.

Is the GentleLase hair removal system painful?

During your laser treatment, slight discomfort may be felt although the unique, inbuilt cooling technology of the GentleLase system helps keep you safe and comfortable. A topical anesthetic may be used prior to treatment but many of our patients tolerate the laser well enough that they do not need this step. Following the treatment, a soothing gel/cream will be applied to the affected area.

What can I do to prepare for my hair removal treatment?

Avoiding exposure to the sun is very important 5-6 weeks prior to your laser hair removal treatment. You must also avoid plucking, waxing and electrolysis for up to 6 weeks, although shaving is allowed. These precautions are to ensure optimal results from your treatments.
