Top 4 Benefits of Microneedling

Wrinkles and sagging skin are inevitable signs that you are getting older. But that does not need to be the case. If you want to stop the visible signs of aging cold in its tracks, look no further than micro-needling.

This completely safe anti-aging skin therapy triggers your skin tissue to produce collagen, which helps you look young and vibrant. Increasing collagen production in your skin provides other benefits too, such as healing scars and damaged skin and shrinking oversized pores.

If you are looking to maintain a youthful appearance micro-needling could be one of your top options.

What is Microneedling and How Does it Work?

Microneedling or collagen induction therapy is a safe and proven countermeasure to the aging process.

This non-invasive skincare therapy stimulates the growth of collagen that has tapered off with age. Because collagen is directly responsible for a youthful appearance, boosting its production can make you look younger than your age would otherwise indicate.

Microneedling involves inserting 12 ultra-fine needles in the skin at a surface-deep level. Your skin responds to these tiny punctures by creating new collagen-rich tissue. During this 60-minute procedure, you are unlikely to feel anything more than a prickly sensation. Microneedling works for all areas of the body, though the face is easily the most popular treatment area.

Why You Should Consider Microneedling

By galvanizing your skin to produce more collagen in the treated area, micro-needling offers multiple benefits:

  1. Reducing lines and wrinkles: The primary benefit of micro needling is replacing lines and wrinkles with smooth, elastic skin. The micro-needling tool gently breaks down old skin tissues and forces the skin to replace them with new collagen-rich tissues. Reversing the visible signs of aging is by far the skin therapy’s main appeal.
  2. Treating scars and damaged skin: Because micro-needling is technically encouraging your skin to replace old tissues with new, it can also be an effective solution to treat acne scars, discolored skin (including melasma), and sunburned skin.
  3. Shrinking pores: Collagen production occurs around pores. As more collagen is produced, the pores become smaller. Shrinking pores contributes to skin health; enlarged pores tend to clog and invite acne.
  4. Increasing the effectiveness of skincare products: The micro-punctures created by the micro-needling tools improve the skin’s capacity to absorb substances. This means that skincare products such as acne treatments and dry skin lotions seep into the skin more thoroughly.

Microneedling Procedure and Recovery

A single micro-needling treatment typically takes around 60 minutes to complete. Depending on the area treated, up to 3 to 6 treatments spread 4 to 6 weeks apart could be recommended.

Microneedling, while not painful, does cause temporary inflammation, redness, and skin peeling. This discomfort should quickly subside after 2 to 4 days. Visible skin improvements should be noticeable within a week of the treatment.

Microneedling is entirely safe.

Microneedling is a powerful anti-aging skin therapy

If you want to slow down the visible signs of aging, then micro-needling could be a compelling addition to exercising and eating a well-balanced diet. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in your skin tissue, renewing collagen production. This profusion of collagen in turn helps keep your skin smooth and elastic while eliminating wrinkles and scars.

In addition to its proven anti-aging appeal, micro-needling can also address scars and damaged skin, shrink pores, and amplify the effects of skincare products. Whatever complaint you may have about your skin, micro-needling is likely to help you in some way.
