What is the difference between Clear+Brilliant® and other lasers? 

Fractional Lasers
Fractional lasers have been used in aesthetic medicine for over 15 years. It has been proven to be very effective in treating various skin problems, such as hyperpigmentation and texture. With this treatment, only a predetermined part of the skin is targeted,  leaving more than three-quarters of the skin surface intact. New epidermal cells are created on the surface of the skin with precisely spaced microperforations, giving your complexion a beautiful glow to replace the dullness. 

Fractional lasers are categorized according to wavelength, depth, and degree of coagulation. The laser can be uncomfortable, but should never be painful. To ensure proper healing of the skin post treatment, we ensure to tell our patients to avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks after treatment and to apply the recommended products for their skin. And staying hydrated will maximize healing! Fractional laser treatment is an option at our clinic and is a go-to for many. 

Clear & Brilliant® : A Gentle Alternative 
Compared to fractional lasers, this alternative is less aggressive. It still treats wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. Gentler does not mean less effective! There are two treatment options with Clear & Brilliant®: 

• Perméa® hand piece : works on overall skin tone
• Original Clear & Brilliant®: a deeper treatment to improve skin texture 

Both of these options require very limited skin recovery time! Besides possible minor swelling and a sunburn-like redness lasting only a few hours, there is no post-treatment downtime. In the days following the treatment, the skin may appear to have a slightly rough sandpapery texture, but the small dead skin cells will eventually peel off on their own soon after. 

Clear & Brilliant® is suitable for all skin types, and patients can come back for multiple sessions without worrying about stressing out the skin. We recommend a course of three to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart for optimal results - but a single treatment can provide a visible effect on the overall appearance of skin tone!

To ensure a gentle treatment, we apply an anesthetic gel to the skin beforehand to make the treatment more comfortable and practically painless. Not only is this treatment gentle and has basically no down time, the laser is approved by Health Canada. A trained and experienced aesthetician will always be the one performing the treatment at our clinic. Lastly, this type of treatment allows you to improve the appearance and health of your skin at a lower cost than ablative lasers.
