Radiesse is an injectable filler that can quickly and safely rejuvenate your appearance! To help you decide if this is the right skin care treatment for you, here are five things you need to know before your treatment.
Injectable fillers, such as Radiesse, Botox, and Juvederm, are very popular non-surgical anti-wrinkle treatments that can quickly and effectively enhance and refresh your look! When compared to cosmetic surgeries, such as facelifts or brow lifts, these anti-wrinkle treatments offer many benefits, because they are:
- Non-surgical
- Minimally painful
- More cost effective
- Quick and require no downtime

5 Things to Know Before Your Radiesse Treatment
Radiesse is an FDA-approved filler that can immediately restore lost facial volume and smooth out wrinkles and folds. To help you decide if Radiesse is the filler you are looking for, here are five key things you need to know before getting the treatment:
1. What Aesthetic Concerns Can Radiesse Address?
Radiesse is designed to restore volume to your mid and lower face. That means that it is best suited to help with:
- Cheek volume
- Nasolabial folds
- Mouth corner creases
- Hollow temples
- Weak chin
- Jowls
If you have concerns about any of the above areas, then you should talk to your skin specialist about whether or not Radiesse is the best filler option for you.
2. Choosing the Right Radiesse Provider
As with any filler or anti-wrinkle treatment, it’s important to receive treatment from an experienced and well-certified injector. Always make sure they are a registered nurse, board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon, and that they have documented certifications of their knowledge.

Booking a consultation with a prospective injector will help ensure that they are the right professional to work with and will give you the peace of mind that you’ll receive the safest and best results.

3. Will There Be Any Downtime After the Treatment?
This depends on how willing you are to resume normal activities while still showing some potential bruising or swelling. While the swelling only lasts a few days, the bruising will reside within a week.
In addition to this, it is not recommended that you work out or drink on the same day of your treatment. You should also avoid facials and massages for at least two weeks after your procedure.
4. What Can I Expect from the Treatment?
This filler treatment is similar to many other filler and anti-wrinkle treatments. It begins with a topical numbing agent being applied to your treatment area, so the procedure will be as comfortable as possible. Your injector will then inject the filler into the treatment areas using an ultra-fine needle. Depending on the number and size of areas being treated, this should take between 15-20 minutes.
5. What if I Don’t Like the Results?
Unlike hyaluronic acid-based fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, it is not possible to dissolve Radiesse. That’s why it’s so important to find a skilled and experienced injector, and make sure that you see before and after pictures so that you are fully aware of what outcome to expect.
If you are unhappy with your results, Radiesse does dissolve naturally but it can take between 12-18 months.
