Perlane

Perlane® is a soft tissue, FDA-approved dermal filler and is part of the Restylane family of products. A clear gel formula, Perlane contains hydrophilic molecules - gel particles which attract and bind to the water molecules in your skin to plump areas of your face and smooth away any unwanted facial wrinkles and folds gently and effectively.

How does Perlane® work?

The Perlane® injection is often combined with other soft tissue fillers such as Restylane and depending on the location and size of the treatment area, the procedure can take from 15-45 minutes. It is performed by injecting the gel under the skin and because it is mixed with a local anesthesia, you will find that it is an extremely comfortable and tolerable treatment.

Does Perlane® have any side effects?

Because it is made from hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the human body, Perlane® is a very safe product. Some of its minimal and temporary side effects at the injection site can include:

Redness
Pain
Slight bruising
Tenderness
Itching

These side effects are usually temporary and will dissipate within 2-3 days.

Is Perlane® right for me?

As with all anti-aging treatments, it is very important to consult with one of our specialists prior to any Perlane® procedures as it isn’t suitable for:

Patients with previous severe allergies (particularly to gram positive bacteria)
Patients with bleeding disorders.
Patients with a known allergy to lidocaine.
Patients with skin sores, pimples, cysts, rashes or infections in the treatment site should wait until the skin is completely healed before considering Perlane® treatment.
Patient is pregnant or breastfeeding or under the age of 18.
